My thoughts on becoming a father

This is my son at 17 weeks

When I was younger I thought a little about being a father. Most of my thoughts were on who would the mother be, because that is what young boys think about. But I found the love of my life and now I can think clearly about becoming a father.

We are a young couple, me being 24 and Angela being 21, and it feels like real life is just beginning. Angela works full time while I work part time and attend as much school as my university allows. One of my classes requires group work and when I introduced myself to the group, I told everyone I'm married and expecting a kid. The looks on their faces were priceless, and their comments were even more funny... to me anyways. My fellow classmates think I am forfitting a big part of my life to become a father.Throwing away my independence, giving up life as I know it. Many people probably think the same way, but I don't really care. I believe in God, and I believe in eternity, and I feel eternity was meant for me to be a father.

No prize for a professional accomplishment can make up for seeing a child grow. No bigger salary from sole dedication to work can compensate for time spent with a child who loves their daddy. This life was meant for joy, and I believe God has blessed us with the most joy in our families. I intend to be the best daddy i can be.

I am so excited to meet my little boy.To teach him about life, and about Heavenly Father, who blessed me to have a child. I look forward to the good times, and the times where we are grateful to have trials. I look forward to birthdays, christmas's, hunting easter eggs around the house, teaching him how to ride a bike, gradutation, serving a mission, marriage, and then watching my blessing unfold for him.

I am excited to become a dad, to love a child of my own.

A few months catch up

Haha, it took me a good 10 minuites to get back on here cause it's been so long that I had forgotten the password. This is Anthony and I'm going to give an update on our life for the last few months.

Angela and I celebrated our one year anniversary back in August and celebrated with the traditional year old cake that had been in our freezer. I'll admit it did not taste as good as it did at our wedding, nor did it look as good but it was fun. The first year flew by and we are already almost half way through the second. Life together gets better and better as every day goes by.

For some reason lately I have been getting into UNLV sports. Mostly basketball but this is a picture of Angela and I at the football game vs Colorado that UNLV actually won! Since we're Dayleys we also sat in the box seats and ate only the finest cuisines while watching the game haha.

When halloween came around Angela was very excited to get dressed up but me being me tried to find a way out of it so here is my compramise.

Yeah, I just wore scrubs from when I worked as a phlebotomist. Angela dressed up a lot more and we both had a good time. My buddy Bryson lent me the stethescope right before the party so it would look like I was trying.

Here's where my ADD kicks in

Last summer we got a new nephew from Chris and Trina named Andrew. He's a cool little guy who already likes to chill on the couch.

Then yesterday we got yet another nephew from Jason and Kira named Joshua

I haven't seen him yet but I'm sure he's cool too. From what I can tell he looks just like his big brother David.

Oh! and to add to the new baby list Angela's brother's wife had a baby a while back. She was named Elizabeth Seastrand. She's cute and also the only niece we have in town so we like to have fun with her.

That brings the count to 4 nephews and 2 nieces for us!

Our family makes such rediculously adorable children and Angela and I are excited to add to the rediculously good looking gene pool by having our own child some day soon!

I couldn't find any pictures for thanksgiving or Christmas or New Years, but I do know they exist so I'll put those up here some time soon. Also we moved into a new place last week and we really like it so once all the boxes are unpacked maybe I'll throw a few of those photos on this as well.

Life goes on and all is well. Angela and I have some pretty exciting things coming up this year so I got a job as a valet to provide a little more income for our security. I'm finishing my undergrad this year and so I continue to take 18 credits to accomplish my goal. As usual we have a ton of goals we are working towards and we are excited to see some of them finally happening. More news on that soon!

Visiting Teaching

Visiting Teaching is such an inspired activity in our church that has blessed my life. It has given me the opportunity to rub shoulders with some amazing women that otherwise, I may not have ever associated.  Through Visiting Teaching I met my companion Sister Caballero. She taught the message today as we were visiting our sisters and she brought such a sweet spirit in with her. She applied the principle of the message to real life experiences that she has had. We come from different backgrounds, and are in different stages in our lives. She is a strong single mother, and I am a young newlywed with no children. However this calling has brought us together and though we have only been companions a few months I have learned so much from her. Our common link is the beautiful gospel of Jesus Christ. We both share a love of the gospel and are so grateful for the blessings that have demonstrated our obedient and have served together. We talk about how hard it is to get all of these women to correlate their schedules to meet, get a message prepared, leave our family at home as we visit these sisters, and a million other excuses, but every time that we go, we leave the homes of those sisters thinking, we are so glad that we went. I have a testimony that Heavenly Father has given us Relief Society and Visiting teaching so that we can be happy, and I have seen that happen in my life. I am grateful for strong women in the church that set a great example for me. I love the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and I am so grateful that I am blessed to be a part of it.
